SMS Gateway Concept

 MicroTeq hosts a Fast Internet SMS Gateway or Wireless Access Point to enable  Software Developers to Integrate Business Systems with SMS functionality.

To keep the integration of SMS requests easy and simple, FTP file transfers will be used between the 3rd Party System (Remote Client) and the AmiCell® SMS Access Point (APN). (We have discontinued Call Back URL (Http) and XML post methods)

The interface method between the APN and the Remote Client will be via the transmission of SMS information contained in DOS Text files (.txt with various extensions) from the Client to the APN. SMS Replies, Deilvery and Error (exception) information from the APN will also be logged in a specified location in a DOS Text File Format on the APN.


Protocols and Communication Method

2.1 The protocol used for the Connection of a Remote Client to the AP will be TCP/IP.

2.2 The method of transferring the data contained in the text files will be automated FTP, the underlying protocol for data transfer built into TCP/IP.

2.3 The Remote Client will use both "Push and Pull" techniques to send SMS Message data to the APN and retrieve Reply, Delivery and Error information off the APN.

2.4 The Remote Client must have the ability to specify a default Internet Connection to a TCP/IP web server host running Internet Information Services for FTP. The APN (AmiCell Access Point Firewall) will be receiving the data files on a specific connection port (Default Port = 21).

2.5 The Remote Client will be configured to send a data file (DOS Text) to a specified directory structure via FTP to the APN (push). The data file will contain information which is required to send SMS Messages through the APN. The APN will process the contents of the data file according to a pre-determined structure or convention.

2.6 The APN has the ability to receive and generate SMS replies and to save these replies into a specific file format into a pre-determined directory location. The Client will in turn retrieve the file off the APN for processing and automation (pull).

2.7 The APN will further generate delivery reports, errors and exceptions with regards to SMS Sending and save this information into a specific data file in a pre-determined format and pre-determined directory location. The Remote Client will in turn retrieve the file off the APN for processing and automation (pull).
