AmiCell® SMS Link is an Interface Application that enables 3rd Party Software with SMS functionality. This readymade Program is an Executable file that can be called or executed from within a 3rd Party Application with specific runtime parameters. The AmiCell® SMS Link interprets the parameters at run time and has the ability to use five different protocols to send SMS Messages to either an AmiCell SMS Server or the AmiCell SMS Gateway. You can select from any or a combination of the protocols best suited for your IT environment.
Single or Bulk SMS Messages can be sent from The AmiCell® SMS Link. From within almost any application that allows for the execution of an external program, SMS Messages can be sent. Example 1: An IT Manager wants to know when the Power Fails in the Server room. The UPS Management Software has the ability to execute a program in such an event. The IT Manager can now within minutes configure the UPS Software with SMS functionality. From within the UPS Management System he will configure the program to send an SMS by calling / executing the AmiCell SMS Link executable file on disk with parameters: SMSlink.EXE –p[PROTOCOL] –r[0830001111,0829990000] –m~The Power has failed in the Server Room! (Two Recipients will instantly receive the SMS Message) Example 2: A Web Developer wants to enable his Website to send SMS information to technical or sales staff in the event of a customer completing a “Contact Us” online form etc. He will add one line of code to his website script executing the AmiCell SMS Link program with parameters. SMSlink.EXE –p[PROTOCOL] –r[0830001111,0829990000,0712223333] –m~A Customer just completed an online order on your website. Here the contact details: …. etc. (Three Recipients will instantly receive the SMS Message) No special programming skills are required to implement the AmiCell SMS link. All you have to do is call / execute the program with parameters. The AmiCell SMS Link takes care of all the tedious security and programming routines for you whilst running in the background. |

APN | The AmiCell SMS Link requires Internet connectivity to transfer SMS Messages from your IT environment / computers to the AmiCell SMS Gateway. The APN protocol is an AmiCell Proprietary protocol. |
FTP | The FTP Protocol can only be used in conjunction with an AmiCell SMS Server. If you have an AmiCell SMS Server installed on your LAN or anywhere on the Internet, you can configure the AmiCell SMS Link to transfer SMS requests via FTP. |
Folder | The FOLDER Protocol also can only be used in conjunction with an AmiCell SMS Server. If you have an AmiCell SMS Server installed on your LAN, you can configure the AmiCell SMS Link to transfer SMS requests to a specific location / folder for processing. No Internet Access is required. |
Configure the AmiCell SMS Link to send SMS Messages via Email 2 SMS. This protocol can be used for both the AmiCell SMS Server (with built in Email 2 SMS) or the AmiCell SMS Email 2 SMS Gateway hosted on the Internet. | |
URL | The AmiCell SMS Link has the ability to utilize URL (http://) Post directly on the AmiCell SMS Gateway. An automated SMS script is executed on the AmiCell Gateway that delivers the SMS Messages. Internet connectivity is required. |
When the AmiCell SMS Link is opened from the Desktop, settings and configuration values can be modified and tested. When the AmiCell SMS Link is executed with parameters from an application, the SMS messaging is perform in the background without user intervention.  There are two types of Payment Options available. The Pre-Paid option allows you to purchase SMS bundles when you need to. The bundle never expires and you do not forfeit your remaining SMS bundle when purchasing another. A recharge fee applies. The Subscription option allows you to pay for your SMS usage in arrears. A monthly subscription fee applies.

| Step 1 | Download and complete the AmiCell® SMS Gateway Service Agreement form or complete it online. You can choose from a pre-paid billing package or a subscription option. The subscription option allows you to pay via debit order or EFT, and is subject to a small monthly subscription fee. The pre-paid option allows you to purchase SMS credits when you need it. These credits will not expire. Every time you recharge with more SMS credits you will be charged a minimal recharge fee of R20 per 1000 SMS credits, but never exceeding R50. Recharging is done by requesting an amount via email, upon which you will then receive an invoice. |
