AmiCell® SMS Server Concept

Main Features:Bulk SMS SenderSMS SchedulerRemote Access3rd Party File ScannerHistorical DataDelivery ReportsAddress BookData Import/Emport

The AmiCell® SMS Server provides the means of utilizing the power of GSM communications to send SMS Messages to groups of recipients with the click of a few buttons (Bulk SMS Transmissions). AmiCell® SMS Server is an automated sender of SMS Messages. Bulk or Single Messages can be sent immediately, or scheduled to be sent at a later time. Recurring schedules can easily be implemented to send SMS Messages at regular intervals. Groups of Recipients are stored and maintained in a secure multi user relational database. Messages sent by Recipients to the AmiCell® SMS Server are stored in the database similar to Email systems and further alerts the system User of the incoming SMS Messages. In other words, AmiCell® SMS Server is a two way SMS communication system (SMS Exchange).

The AmiCell® SMS Server can Send between 600 and 1000 SMS Messages per hour and can monitor the special Plug-In Modules simultaneously.

It is developed as a Windows Service and can be installed as a complete background service, or run with normal desktop interaction on Microsoft Windows Platforms.

The AmiCell® SMS Server consists of various modules. There are runtime modules for SMS processing, and static modules used for Setups, Logs, User Security, Billing, etc. AmiCell® SMS incorporates the following functionality and System Modules:

SMS Manager
Manages SMS Requests inbound and outbound, Email Sending and Receiving, Communicates with the GSM Modem and Cellular Networks, Performs Billing and generates historical Delivery and Error data.

Integrity Checking
Checks all the Critical components of the AmiCell® SMS Server to ensure full functionality with regards to setups, user setings and network connectivity to ensure 24/7 system availability. The AmiCell® SMS Server was developed to automatically correct runtime and wireless cellular network errors.

SMS Bulk Sender
A User Friendly "Drag and Drop" Interface to Send SMS Messages, and if selected, simultaneous Email to Groups of Recipients with various message tailoring options.

SMS Scheduler
A User Friendly "Drag and Drop" Interface to Schedule SMS Messages by date and time to Groups of Recipients and pre-format SMS Messages and Email with various options. Scheduled SMS Messages can be selected as recurring type SMS messages. Recurring SMS Messages can be set for Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Yearly occurrences.

Remote SMS Access
The Remote Macro module provides the System User with the ability to send SMS Messages from a personal Cellular Phone to an AmiCell® SMS Server in a pre-defined message format. The AmiCell® SMS Server will validate the SMS Message and act accordingly depending on the Macro settings. Two type of Macros are available. Send SMS Messages to Groups of Recipients or to All Recipients, and Run a Program. A System User can therefore send Bulk SMS Messages from a personal cellular phone without using the SMS Bulk Sender module.
This functionality further allows for specific system commands if the "Run a Program" Macro is selected. Any executable program can be activated to perform tasks on the Computer on which the AmiCell® SMS Server is installed!
The AmiCell® SMS Server monitors Email to SMS Requests during runtime. Registered System Users can send SMS requests from 3rd Party Email Programs to a unique Email Address configured for the AmiCell® SMS Server. Attachments as predefined Text Files, as Specified in the 3rd Party File Scanner, or predefined Excel Spread Sheets can be sent to the AmiCell® SMS Server email address. Upon receipt of such email, security verification will be performed prior to SMS processing.

Plug-Ins
3rd Party File Scanner (used for Business System Integration)
The 3rd Party File Scanner Plug-in module makes it possible for the AmiCell® SMS Server to receive requests from external database systems or customized software developed by 3rd Parties. This Plug-In is free and always shipped with the AmiCell® SMS Server.

Keyword Manager (used for Competitions, Voting, Auto Responders, Callback URL, Outputs)
The Keyword Manager performs various automated functions related to inbound SMS messages. Upon receipt of a Keyword or range of variables, AmiCell® SMS will determine the action in accordance with specified instances, and functions without human intervention.

Email to SMS (used for Business System Integration, Remote SMS Access)
Email to SMS is an easy way to send SMS Messages from a remote location to an AmiCell® SMS Server. In other words, you can email a file (Text or Spread Sheet) to the AmiCell SMS Server, and upon security validation, the SMS Messages will be processed. SMS Replies from Recipients will be delivered to the sender via return email, or to the sender's mobile number.

Historical Data/Delivery Reports
AmiCell® SMS Server stores detailed historical data of all SMS transactions processed by system user, periods (year, month), Cellular Phone Recipients, error logs, usage statistics, etc. All historical data can be exported with selection filters to a Spread Sheet for further analysis.

Recipient Address Book
The Recipient Address Book provides the AmiCell® SMS Server with an Address Book or List of persons with Cellular Phones (referred to as a Recipient). The aim of the Address Book is to have a pre-loaded and maintainable database to easily send an SMS Message to a Group of people from the SMS Sending Modules (SMS Bulk Sender, SMS Scheduler).

Each system User using the AmiCell® SMS Server locally or from the AmiCell® SMS Client Software will have an Address Book or Recipient List. To ease the classification of Recipients, Recipients will be categorized by User and Groups. Recipients can then be added to logical groups. The same Recipient can belong to many groups and many System Users.

To enhance the ability of the Standard Address Book, Saved Lists are also incorported to enable special Recipient Lists. In other words, Recipients stored in specific Groups can be selected and stored in a Saved List for fast selection. This adds another dimension to the already three tier Address Book.

The AmiCell® SMS Server has an internal Ban List. A Ban List is used to prevent System Users from sending SMS Messages to a Specific Recipient. In the event that a Recipient chooses not to receive SMS Messages from you, you can add the Cellular Number to the Ban List, and the AmiCell® SMS Server will never send another SMS to the number unless removed from the Ban List.

Recipients or Cell Phone Users can send an SMS at any time to your AmiCell® SMS Server. In such an event, the AmiCell® SMS Server will first determine if the SMS originates from a Recipient in the Address Book. If the Recipient exists, the AmiCell® SMS Server will log the SMS accordingly to the Recipient. Should the Recipient not reside in the Address Book, the SMS will be logged and recorded as an "Unknown" Recipient. These Unknown recipients can be analysed and added to the Address Book via an easy "drag and drop" interface.

User Billing
Billing schemes can be implemented and assigned to system users to track and monitor SMS Message costs. Pre-Paid Recharge options for User Billing is available. In other words, the AmiCell® SMS Server will account for each SMS passing through the SMS Manager at different cost to different System Users with contract or Pre-Paid settings (With this functionality, you can sell SMS Messages to third parties to generate income).

Data Import/Emport
Importing and Exporting from the AmiCell® SMS Server makes it possible to interface Recipient data to 3rd Party Software databases. If you already have a large recipient list in another program, you can export the data and easily import it to AmiCell.

Setup and Configuration
Static System Modules exist to configure the runtime behaviour of the AmiCell® SMS Server. These Modules include System Security, Plug-Ins, Functionality, Modes of Operations, User Setups, Email Configuration, Modem Diagnostics, etc.
